Kena’s floors are easy to keep clean and new looking. With a few moments of care and a little common sense, you can
keep your floor looking like new, year after year. Here are a few simple suggestions
you should follow: DO’S AND DON’TS 1. The use of traffic runners, entrance, & mats to reduce the amount of scratches
from dirt & grit. Verify with manufacturer that runners and mats will not cause a reaction to the floor. 2. Vacuuming and
dry mopping will eliminate dirt & grit for a source of scratches.
Do not use a household dust treatment; this may cause your floors to become slick or dull finish. Never damp mop wood floor.
Water causes deterioration of wood & finish. Never use wax. 3. The use of
furniture & chair leg protectors will help eliminate scratches. 4. Be careful moving heavy appliances & furniture. Seek professional help when doing so. 5. Be aware of
Stiletto heels and high heels will dent any flooring surface. 6. Wipe up spills immediately. Standing water will cause DAMAGE to all flooring surfaces. 7.
Sunlight will change color of wood floors. Use draperies to your
advantage. Do not depend on windows glazed with UV resistant coating to eliminate
fading of the color of the wood floor. 8. Changes
of humidity can
cause the wood floors to expand and contract. In winter, the use of heat
causes the wood to give up some of its moisture and therefore shrinks. 9. Only use floor cleaner to clean light stains & scuff marks with a damp cloth. Never use scouring powder, steel wool, or abrasive cleaners, such as Comet or Ajax. 10. Kena Inc.
DOES NOT recommends bamboo flooring in bath areas. Kena’s hardwood floors are natural products, containing
natural variations in color, tone and grain. A slight color variation between planks is to be expected on a natural floor.
Planks are with subtle manufacturing characteristics, such as splice lines and minor blemishes. Care should be taken during
installation to cut out or repair particular characteristics you do not desire. We urge you to inspect for color, finish and
quality BEFORE installation. Blending cartons are important to get a uniform appearance across
the complete floor. Open several cartons of flooring and stack the planks in
the work area so the flooring is blended during installation. We suggest you use a cut plank as a starter board to begin each
new row. Please keep in mind that it is always a good idea to retain a few planks
in case a repair is ever required. Please Note:
Kena Inc. accepts no responsibility for costs incurred when a floor with visible defects has been installed.
